Astronauts is not going to take a break on the Labor Day which is coming this weekend but will take another day instead after completing their mission on the space.

Kelly Humphries, who is the spokesman for NASA said Monday is an official rest day for the space station crew. The three Americans and three Russians aboard the station, however, won’t get to shirk their space duties all day.

There are a lot of chores and clean up work we have to do. Station crew usually spends their time at the gym doing the exercise at least 2.5 hours a day. The gym at the space station contains a stationary bike, a treadmill, and a weight-training machine that generates up to 600 lbs. (273 kg) of resistance using vacuum cylinders.

Humphries said before their missions start Space station crews choose their days off together. The astronauts usually have the holiday at the different day from other people except for the main holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving; they usually celebrate with their families as well as the government.

We don’t know for sure if the astronauts will take a day off for Labor Day. Astronauts don’t want to waste their time on this holiday.
