Spiderman on Broadway Musical
Spiderman, the Broadway show that was supposed to bring superpowers to the stage has been delayed until January 11 2011. Officials for the show have stated that there are no changes being made to the show itself, and that the decision to delay the musical was because of technical issues that the staff was having.
Reeve Carney has been chosen to play the part of Spiderman, a highly coveted part among Broadway actors. Jennifer Damiano will be playing Mary Jane. Officially titled “Spiderman: Turn off the Dark,” the show has been a highly anticipated production that reportedly took more than $55 million to make. A number of high profile actors showed interest in the part of Spiderman, but lost out to the young rising actor Reeve Carney.
The show was originally set to open on November 14th but was delayed until November 28th until the technical issues revolving around the production had been worked out. As the delayed date approached, it became clear that they would require additional time to get everything in order. “Spiderman: Turn off the Dark” features a 41 member cast that includes a nearly-complete orchestra and acrobats.
